Terms of Service
Receiptile Pty Ltd (ACN 696 486 674) · Last updated: 18 July 2026
1. Agreement to terms
By accessing or using the Receiptile website, mobile application, hardware device, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
Receiptile provides a digital receipt capture and delivery system comprising:
- A hardware device ("Tile") that connects to your WiFi network and captures receipt data from point-of-sale systems
- A web and mobile application for viewing, managing, and exporting digital receipts
- Optional email receipt scanning via Gmail integration
- Cloud-based receipt storage, processing, and analytics
The Tile is a physical product that you own once delivered. The Receiptile software and cloud service is a separate, ongoing subscription. Features that depend on an active subscription (such as capturing and delivering new digital receipts) stop working if your subscription ends.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at info@receiptile.com if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
5. Hardware
5.1 Ownership
The Receiptile Tile hardware is either purchased upfront (on a monthly plan) or included with your first year of service (on an annual plan), as described at checkout. In both cases the hardware becomes your property upon delivery, and it remains yours if you later cancel your subscription. You are not required to return the hardware on ordinary cancellation; a return is only needed if you are claiming the 30-day money-back guarantee (see 6.3).
5.2 Use
The Tile is designed for commercial use at a point-of-sale location. You are responsible for providing a USB power source and WiFi network connection. The Tile must not be modified, disassembled, or used for any purpose other than operating the Receiptile Service.
5.3 Warranty
The Tile hardware is covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of delivery. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, modification, water damage, or power surges. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Plans, payment and refunds
6.1 Plans
The Service is offered on two plans, priced per Tile:
- Annual plan: $349 AUD per Tile per year in Australia and New Zealand (Australian pricing includes GST), charged at the time of purchase. The price includes one Receiptile Tile and your first 12 months of service. Elsewhere, the standard price is $349 USD per Tile per year; during our founding launch period the first year is $249 USD, and founding customers continue to renew at $249 USD. The plan renews automatically each year unless cancelled before your next renewal date (see 6.2).
- Monthly plan: a one-time hardware purchase of $99 AUD per Tile in Australia and New Zealand ($99 USD elsewhere), plus a subscription of $39 AUD per Tile per month ($39 USD elsewhere). Australian pricing includes GST. The subscription continues month-to-month until cancelled. It starts when your Tile is activated, and your first 30 days of service are included at no charge.
Prices shown at checkout at the time of your purchase apply. Local taxes may apply depending on your location.
6.2 Billing and renewal
Fees are charged in advance via the payment method on file. Annual plans renew automatically at each anniversary at the same price as your previous period, unless we have notified you of a price change in accordance with section 6.5, and unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will send you a reminder before each annual renewal. Monthly plans are billed monthly in advance once the subscription has started.
6.3 30-day money-back guarantee
Every order is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied for any reason, contact us at info@receiptile.com within 30 days of receiving your Tile. We will provide return instructions; to qualify, you need to return the Tile and its included components to us within that process. Once we have received the returned Tile (or otherwise agreed with you how the return will be handled), we will refund the eligible purchase price — the amounts you paid for that Tile and its associated subscription — to your original payment method. This guarantee does not limit, and is in addition to, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us, without any cancellation fee. Cancellation stops future renewal charges. Your Service continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, unless we deactivate it earlier as part of an approved refund. Unless the Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise, cancellation does not automatically refund amounts already paid outside the 30-day money-back guarantee. The hardware remains yours, and receipts already issued to your customers remain available to them. Features that depend on an active subscription stop working once your subscription ends.
6.5 Price changes
We may change future subscription fees by giving you reasonable advance notice — at least 30 days' written notice before the change takes effect for you. For annual plans, a price change applies from your next renewal. A price change never retrospectively alters an amount you have already paid for your current billing period. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fees.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Tile hardware or firmware
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use the Service to capture data from point-of-sale systems without the merchant's authorisation
- Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent
8. Data and receipts
8.1 Receipt data
Receipt data captured by the Tile is processed and stored on our servers. You retain ownership of your receipt data. We are granted a licence to process, store, and display the data as necessary to provide the Service.
8.2 Data accuracy
Receipt data is captured and processed automatically. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that extracted receipt data is error-free. You are responsible for verifying receipt data before relying on it for accounting, tax, or legal purposes.
8.3 Data export
You may export your receipt data at any time via the Service's export features (CSV, PDF, Xero, Dext).
8.4 Data retention
We retain your receipt data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will delete your data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.
9. Gmail integration
If you connect your Gmail account to the Service, you authorise Receiptile to access your Gmail inbox in read-only mode solely for the purpose of identifying and extracting email receipts. This access is governed by our Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.
You may disconnect your Gmail account at any time from your account settings.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Tile hardware design, firmware, software, website, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Receiptile Pty Ltd. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described herein.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
- Receiptile is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from inaccurate receipt data
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (or any other law) that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Receiptile, its directors, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, fail to pay subscription fees, or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service may cause harm to us or other users. We will provide reasonable notice before termination where practicable.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
15. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
