Terms of Service
Receiptile Pty Ltd (ACN 696 486 674, ABN 41 696 486 674)
Last updated: 7 September 2026
1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you access or use Receiptile's websites, mobile applications, App Clip, Receiptile Tile hardware, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract to open a merchant account or purchase a subscription.
2. The Service
Receiptile provides digital receipt capture, delivery, storage, organisation, extraction, and export features. The Service may include:
- Receiptile Tile hardware that connects to authorised point-of-sale systems;
- web, iOS, Android, and App Clip experiences;
- optional Gmail, accounting, banking, point-of-sale, Apple Wallet, and other integrations;
- cloud storage, automated data extraction, analytics, and support; and
- merchant subscription and hardware services.
Features may change as the Service develops. We will give reasonable notice where a material change adversely affects a paid Service.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly notify info@receiptile.com of suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account except to the extent caused by Receiptile's breach of these Terms or applicable law.
You must not share administrative credentials with unauthorised people or attempt to access another person's receipts, account, business, device, or data.
4. Subscriptions, prices, and payment
The plan, currency, billing interval, inclusions and price shown before payment form part of these Terms. Current merchant offers are:
- Annual: A$349 per Tile for businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Elsewhere, annual service is US$349 per Tile for the first year and US$349 per year on renewal. Existing customers retain their agreed pricing unless changed in accordance with their terms. One Tile is included at no separate hardware charge. Australian and New Zealand annual subscriptions renew at A$349 per year, unless a change is notified under these Terms.
- Monthly: the one-off hardware price shown at checkout, plus A$39 per Tile per month for Australia and New Zealand or US$39 per Tile per month elsewhere. Service starts at activation. The first 30 days of service are included; paid monthly billing starts after that period.
Initial hardware and annual-plan checkout amounts may be converted into the local currency shown before payment. Subscription billing is in AUD for Australia and New Zealand and USD elsewhere. Complete your account and billing setup during activation. Taxes, delivery charges and any applicable regional charges are shown before payment.
If a free trial is offered, its duration and payment requirements will be shown at signup. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins automatically and the payment method on file is charged.
Subscriptions renew for the interval selected until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current paid period, unless applicable law or the offer provides otherwise. We do not provide prorated refunds for a partially used billing period, but your rights under Australian Consumer Law and any published refund or money-back offer continue to apply.
We may change future subscription pricing by giving at least 30 days' notice. You may cancel before a change takes effect.
5. Hardware, delivery, and warranty
Ownership of a physical Tile passes as stated at checkout or in the applicable order. Ownership of the physical unit does not transfer Receiptile's intellectual property in its firmware, software, designs, cloud services, or branding.
You are responsible for providing compatible power, network access, and an authorised point-of-sale environment. Do not modify, disassemble, tamper with, or misuse the Tile, except where a restriction is prohibited by law.
Receiptile hardware is covered against manufacturing defects for 12 months from delivery unless a longer period is required by law or stated in the applicable offer. The warranty does not cover misuse, unauthorised modification, liquid damage, unsuitable power, or ordinary wear. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Delivery estimates are estimates only. Title, risk, returns, refunds, and any money-back period are also subject to the refund, warranty, and shipping policies presented with your order.
6. Your data and receipts
You retain your rights in receipt data and content you provide. You grant Receiptile a non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, analyse, display, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service and comply with law.
Receipt capture and automated extraction can make mistakes. You must verify information before relying on it for tax, accounting, warranty, financial, or legal purposes. Receiptile is not your accountant, tax adviser, or financial adviser.
You can export or delete receipts using available features. When you delete your account, Receiptile promptly deletes or de-identifies account-linked data where possible. We may retain records required for tax, accounting, fulfilment, warranty, fraud prevention, disputes, security, or other legal obligations. Residual backup copies expire through our providers' normal backup lifecycle. Further details are in our Privacy Policy.
7. Gmail and other integrations
Optional integrations are enabled only when you choose to connect them and grant the requested permissions. Gmail access is read-only and used to identify and import receipt emails. Disconnecting Gmail stops future access but does not delete receipts already imported into Receiptile; you must delete those receipts individually or through account deletion.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Receiptile is not responsible for a third-party service's availability or conduct, but this does not limit rights that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service unlawfully or without the required merchant, customer, or system authority;
- capture data from a point-of-sale system without the merchant's authorisation;
- access, probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass the security of the Service;
- introduce malware or use the Service to harm another person;
- reverse-engineer, copy, modify, or derive source code from protected software or firmware except where the law expressly permits it;
- bypass device activation, subscription, licensing, or security controls;
- resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or redistribute the Service without written permission;
- use the Service or its output to build or assist a competing product in breach of our intellectual property rights; or
- remove proprietary notices or misrepresent your relationship with Receiptile.
9. Intellectual property and licence
Receiptile and its licensors own the Service, including its software, firmware, hardware designs, documentation, trademarks, and other intellectual property. Subject to these Terms, Receiptile grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal use or your authorised business while your account and any required subscription remain active.
No reseller, distribution, agency, franchise, partnership, exclusivity, territory, rollout, or volume right arises unless it is set out in a separate written agreement signed by Receiptile.
Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used to improve Receiptile without restriction or payment, but this does not transfer ownership of your receipt data or other content.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, provider outages, network failures, device compatibility, and events outside our reasonable control may affect operation.
We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or address unpaid fees. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate actions: cancelling stops future renewal but does not automatically delete your account or receipts.
We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, non-payment, fraud, security risk, unlawful conduct, or discontinuation of the Service. We will give reasonable notice where practicable and legally permitted.
Clauses that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and lawful retention, continue to apply.
12. Consumer guarantees, disclaimers, and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a consumer guarantee, warranty, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under Australian Consumer Law.
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Receiptile excludes implied warranties that may lawfully be excluded. Receiptile is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss arising from receipt extraction errors, except where that liability cannot be excluded.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, Receiptile's aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid Receiptile in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. For goods or services not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use, our liability for breach of a consumer guarantee is limited, at our option and where permitted, to repair, replacement, resupply, or the cost of doing so.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you indemnify Receiptile and its officers and employees against third-party claims caused by your unlawful use of the Service, your infringement of another person's rights, or your material breach of these Terms. This does not apply to loss caused by Receiptile's negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The courts of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protections in your location continue to apply.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. We will publish the new version and effective date and give reasonable advance notice of material changes. If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop using the Service and cancel before it takes effect. We maintain versioned legal documents and may record the version accepted by an account.
